The Hero’s Journey

We will investigate and create stories using the Hero’s Journey archetype, which has influenced so many writers and filmmakers through history. (Think Harry Potter, Star Wars, the Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Shrek, Hunger Games, etc.)

First will be a discussion of the archetype, and then we’ll start plotting and writing. You will leave the half-day workshop with an outline for a story or the full-day workshop with a polished first scene or chapter as well (or, if you prefer, a short story—an excerpt from your plot).
